Professional photographer/ecologist Lloyd Raleigh will present behind-the-scenes views and a naturalist’s assessment of Asia’s environmental status as he recounts his three-year journey backpacking from Hong Kong to Turkey.

Co-Presidents' Message - November 2008

LET US BUILD MEMBERSHIP FOR PTPDE IN 2009!

Soon we will be beginning our Membership Drive 2009! We hope you will rejoin our Delaware Chapter and recruit others who are interested in understanding people from around the globe. Increasingly, events in one part of the world impact all of us on this Earth. We welcome your ideas for increasing our membership and for developing events that are important for you and others. We really appreciate those who want to become ACTIVE in our Delaware Chapter—one of the most active in the world!

We hope that you will visit our fabulous website often to check on up-coming events, catch up on news you may have missed, and see if you can spot yourself in photos and videos of past events.

On October 22nd we hosted professionals who are studying at the English Language Institute at UD for dinner at Timothy’s on the Riverfront. You can find terrific photos of the dinners that we hosted in the past on this website! Sign up to come when we announce future dinners. It is a wonderful opportunity to make new international friends!

We will be interviewing potential Student Ambassadors this fall, who wish to travel in 2009. We welcomed back our 2008 Student Ambassadors from their travels with a picnic and fund-raising walk at Lums’s Pond. Proceeds from the walk went to our Student Ambassador Scholarship Fund. Please contact our webmaster if you are a potential Student Ambassador and wish to apply for this scholarship.

What fun PTPDE members had in September hosting PTPI members from Denmark! If you wish to host in the future please contact us; our telephone numbers are below.

Please consider participating in other events and programs throughout the year such as Circles of Understanding, Books for Overseas Youth, and Families of the World. See this website for upcoming happenings! Our talented and highly committed Board of Directors are energized to create programs and events that enrich and inform people of all ages!

We hope you’ll continue to help further ‘Peace through Understanding’ formally through organizations like ours, and informally through your own interactions with people you meet every day. Help us with our Membership Drive for 2009—join us again or for the first time!

Just click on the Membership Campaign Letter above for more information, or call Jean at 302-652-7716 or Georgi at 302-482-3263.

We are a welcoming organization! We are an organization on the move…
