Summer 2010

Dear Members and Site Visitors,

Welcome to the Delaware Chapter PTP website. As you browse through the various pages, you will learn about upcoming events as well as our recent programs. You also will find information about other local events with an international focus. Please check back often, as new information will be posted when it becomes available.

Mid-summer is already upon us as I write this message. I hope that you and your families are enjoying the season and are getting some relief from the intense heat that we have had so far.

Events coming up include a Welcome Home picnic on August 15 for the approximately 100 Student Ambassadors that participated in this year’s program. Beyond that, the next major event is, on September 16, Cultural Insights- Afghanistan and Pakistan, a panel discussion about culture and behavior of the people who reside in this contentious area. Please SAVE THE DATE and visit our home page for more information as it develops.

As you can see, our Chapter is committed to bringing quality programs to the community and recognizing the strengths that reside here. It is through your membership dues that we are able to conduct these programs as well as to provide a Student Ambassador summer travel scholarship. Beyond the financial aspects, your involvement, where possible, helps to do the many and varied backroom activities that make these programs available.

We are calling upon you to renew your membership unless you have already done so. If you are not yet a member, please consider completing a membership application and joining us. If you have skills that you feel would be helpful to conduct our work, please indicate that on your application. We need your help, particularly in the areas of website, electronic flyers, and database management.

Please join us!! Help us to communicate “Peace Through Understanding” to the whole age spectrum that makes up our community.
